Kenya
The Big Five. The Great Rift Valley. Masai Mara National Park. Wildebeest herds stalked by prides of lions. Chattering hyenas fighting over scraps. Million-strong flocks of flamingos at Lake Nakuru. Rhinos and zebras half concealed in long grass. Savannah trees and giraffe necks silhouetted against a setting sun. Elephants everywhere…A safari in Kenya is grand, cinematic stuff, yet so much more overwhelming than the best doco on the biggest movie screen. Here is the real thing, from horizon to horizon. From dawn game drives and nature walks, to tented camping beneath a galaxy of stars and shared stories with new friends, Kenya is romantic, relaxing and wild African adventure at its best.

All tour guides for both legs of the trip - Chris, John & Mwangi - were fantastic. All were extremely approachable and made sure we had everything we needed. In the case of Chris and John their excitment when we watched a lion stalk in the Serengeti was infectious and added to our excitment, as this is not a routine experience.

There were many memorable parts: Hot air balloon over the Mara, Visiting a church in Naivasha, The orphanage, Seeing the Big Five. Our local leader Ronaldo was fantastic. His knowledge of the areas and the animals was second to none. He was approachable, funny and in general, a great guide to have.
