Mo Sisters are doin' it for men's health

How's everybody going with their Movember efforts? We're about halfway there, and I can tell you the Gecko's office is full of some pretty hilarious moustaches! 

This week, the Mo Sisters did their bit towards raising funds and awareness for men's health with a mo-shaped cookie decorating competition. Everyone was encouraged to make a donation and decorate a cookie, with judges deeming this to be the winning entry...quite fitting we think!

Your questions answered

Over on Facebook, Rebecca Greenhalgh had a question about her upcoming trip to Nepal. She said:

"Hi Gecko's, I'm off to Nepal tonight for the Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Lakes trek but missing one thing - iodine tables for the water. Where can i get these?"

We asked Steve, our Destination Manager for his help on this one. Here's what Steve had to say:

"Hi Rebecca. They’re not really necessary as you can buy boiled or bottled water in the lodges and along the trail that is perfectly safe to drink…and tastes a lot better. Otherwise, your leader can help you get some (time permitting) although very few people treat water these days. Also, buying the water from lodges provides them with a small income. Hope that helps!"

We also had an additional comment from another Gecko's fan, Michael Bolenski, who offered the following advice:

"Take some cold and flu tablets, and some multivitamins are worth packing. Cordial, nutella are good things too".
