The beauty of travel is getting to meet so many people. Some are strangers only met for a fleeting moment in a restaurant or cafe. Others become part of the rich tapestry that is our experience of travel, changing us and adding to our experience of a country in ways we never imagined. Luckier still are the times when we meet people who we will stay in touch with for the rest of our lives.

More and more women are travelling on their own. The fear of the unknown is not a reason to stay at home. However, it is important for women to be aware of the dangers that can lurk.

Many female travellers are unfortunate enough to face sexual harassment while on their journeys. The type and severity can vary between locations, cultures, and religions. Thankfully, there are steps that can be taken to reduce the frequency at which it occurs:

Greece, Mamma Mia 

The best part of Mamma Mia (besides the retro ABBA songs of course!) is a chance to lose yourself in the beautiful blue waters, narrow cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses of Greece.

One of my best (and most costly) travel purchases was an iPad 2. However, I couldn't be happier with my decision. The flexibility of being able to have a computer-like device at my fingertips while travelling has been a real blessing.

Wireless internet is becoming increasingly common and is, in most cases, cheaper or free than renting a computer at an internet cafe. Furthermore, it gives you the flexibility of preparing your emails (or blog posts) prior to accessing internet. This leaves you more time to explore the city, rather than wasting time on the internet.
