Joanna recently went on our Complete East Africa Reverse trip, and couldn't wait to share some of her favourite pics with us. Here's the trip in her own words and pictures:

When you're tired of the tourists, wanna get rid of the resorts and need to shake off the shackles of the big city towns it's time to hit the world's most secluded beaches.

Todos Santos, Mexico
Todos Santos is part surf town, part artists colony and entirely chilled out. It's the complete opposite of Cabo San Lucas, which is just 50 miles south and teeming with tourists.

Go beyond the highlights and get into some of the awesome street art, shopping, food and culture that Cape Town has to offer. We'll get you away from the crowds, around the traditional wine routes andoff the beaten track.

Get up and at 'em early today, cos you might be feeling the effects of a few South African wines tomorrow morning. But before we get to that, it's time to get amongst Cape Town's thriving bean scene.

Tired of pounding the pavement? Is the man gettin you down? Sounds like it's time to recharge, refresh and take a journey for the mind, body and soul.

Now don't freak out - it doesn't mean you have to wear tie-dye pants and grow your armpit hair. We just think you could do with a bit of rejuvenation. You don't even need to be religious to make the most of a spiritual journey. Just be prepared to open yourself up to a deeper travel experience.

After a Gecko's trip visiting the East Africa Mission Orphanage in Nakuru, Kenya, Ann Treloar's life will never be the same. Since her first visit, Ann has volunteered at the orphanage and is currently back in her hometown of Melbourne fundraising for a new library for the EAMO kids.

Sitting at home, packing for an overland tour means packing for the unexpected and unknown, which means one thing – less is best. I am what you would call a minimalistic packer. I tend to take just the basics when I travel because when you are overlanding, there are no butlers to wait on you, no porters to carry your luggage, no one to rely on but yourself, and your trusty backpack that you need to carry. Yes, and when it comes to carrying, less is definitely best.

Saskia van Waaijenburg is one of our most passionate Gecko's travellers. She has been on countless journeys, meeting hundreds of people and taking thousands of photos along the way.

Take a look at the faces of Africa, in this stunning set of images kindly supplied to us by Saskia. So many emotions can be seen - joy, curiosity and something in the face of one little girl that seems to be hard to define. One thing's for sure, the memory of these faces will stay with you forever.
