If you’ve got a hankering for spicy curries, deep-fried spiders and a tonne of awesome temples, you’ve come to the right place: Cambodia.
There’s more to Cambodia than Angkor Wat. But let’s face it, if you were dropped on earth for a day and that was the place you were dropped, you’d think earth was a pretty incredible place.
Temples are just the tip of the Cambodian iceberg. In Sihanoukville it’s all about beaches and islands and unplugging from the world. In Kampong Cham you’ll find yourself cycling over bamboo bridges while discussing baguettes and fried spiders. In Phnom Penh, you’ll get an insight into the country’s troubled past, and in Siem Reap you’ll get one of the best foot massages you’ve ever had.
Cambodia is wild jungles, sleepy beaches, insane temples, shocking history and brag-about-forever food rolled into one little package. Check it out on a Geckos small group adventure with a new crew of 18-29 year old mates.
What people say
Our tour through Cambodia was great, we really did have a grass roots experience. I came away from the tour in love with the country, and would recommend my tour to anyone looking for an authentic travel experience, with like-minded people.
What people say
Felt like I truly got to see the real Cambodia as the tour guide was a local and extremely knowledgable! All the optional activities especially quadbiking biking were worth doing and the opportunity to stay in a home stay was an amazing experience.
Cambodia travel highlights
See Angkor Wat at sunrise
“Angkor what?” said no one ever. Have your mind blown by the architecture and beauty of this famous Khmer temple complex
Hoon around Phnom Penh in a cyclo
Royal palaces and silver pagodas, old-world charm and new-world traffic – Phnom Penh is, well, rather phenomenal
Choose from miles of sandy beaches in Sihanoukville
Warm weather and warmer locals make Sihanoukville (named after the Cambodian royal family) a great place to chill for a few days
Asia from $88 a day
On a Geckos trip, starting from $88 a day will – on average – get you accommodation, transport and an awesome local leader (India’s even cheaper, from $68 a day!). And it’ll ALWAYS get you into the best local food and drinks haunts, thanks to the insider knowledge our awesome local leaders have – that’s something money can’t buy.

The Real Cambodia, June 2017
I chose Geckos Adventures because I was looking for a genuine experience for my first visit to Asia. Choosing the Real Cambodia tour allowed me to have a short, but fulfilling glimpse into the country's culture and main sights. My small group got along very well, and the helpfulness of our guide made it feel like a little community. I'd definitely recommend Geckos to someone who wants a genuine cultural experience.

Ultimate Cambodia, June 2017
My sister and I went to Thailand a few days before our tour to do other activities and my recommendation is that if you plan to do other activities before your tour that you make sure to read ahead of time about any scams or tricks that people try to do to foreigners, but once you are with your tour you don't have to worry about it.
