Ever wanted to get to the heart of the coolest place this side of 2000BC, complete with nose-less monuments, towering pyramids and bejewelled camels? Of course you have. Get yourself to Egypt, asap.
You’ve kind of got to see it to believe it in Egypt – the chaos of Cairo (seriously, this city never stops); the epic awesomeness of the Pyramids of Giza and world’s most famous nose-less lady-lion, The Sphinx; sailing into the sunset on a felucca cruise along the Nile, then jumping on the back of a camel and riding into Luxor’s Valley of the Kings.
If you want to walk like an Egyptian, this is where you do it. It’s even better with a crew of 18-29 year olds on a small group adventure with Geckos.
Egypt travel highlights
Walk like an Egyptian among the Pyramids of Giza
These have to be the world’s most impressive tombstones. Also nearby is that rather famous half human/half lion – the Sphinx
Cruise down the Nile River on a felucca
It sounds a bit like a whale, but a felucca is actually a traditional wooden boat with canvas sails (and your ticket down the Nile)
Ride a donkey into the Valley of the Kings
Because when you travel to the underground crypts of the New Kingdom pharaohs, you should travel in style
Travel to India and Nepal from $68 a day
A trip through India or Nepal with Geckos could see you riding camels in the desert, navigating the streets of Delhi in a tuk tuk or summiting Everest Base Camp. And with trips starting at just $68 a day, you may just have some spending money at the end of it.

Egypt Unearthed, May 2017
Egypt & Jordan were a mind blowing experience. At first I didn't know what to expect but once I got there but it was the safest I have ever felt. The Dead Sea was an optional but it is a must!! An absolutely amazing experience.
