They’ve got red hair, cheeky personalities and 360-degree rotatable hips – no, they’re not the satanic spawn of Fred and George Weasley, they’re the orangutans of Borneo.
The highest point in South East Asia? Check. Orangutans? Check. The kind of scenery that looks like it’s straight out of the Jungle Book? You betcha.
What we’re getting at here is that Borneo has a lot going for it. And when you visit Borneo with Geckos, you can float down the Kinabatangan River, climb Mt Kinabalu, search KK for the best food you can find, and of course…just sit around and take it all in.
It’s pretty much the best way to see Borneo you can possibly think of.
What people say
Borneo really exceeded all of my expectations. The Mt Kinabalu climb was definitely the big highlight – our guide, Richard, was really great at encouraging the whole group and making sure that we could all reach the summit. The view from the top was well worth the pain!

Discover Sabah, April 2017
This trip was utterly incredible! I cannot recommend it enough! Felix our guide was an absolute credit to the company- full of life, energy and useful tips (particularly where you could find the best roti's!) The mountain climb was an absolute highlight, one of the most physically and mentally difficult things I have ever done but SO WORTH IT! The view at the top is out of this world. We were lucky enough to see orang-utans, proboscis monkeys, grey tail monkeys, sun bears and flying squirrels in their natural habitat and it was just incredible! BOOK NOW!
