Fancy French buildings and Buddha statues at every turn – take a holiday to Laos and you’ll be sayin’ Wow!
We reckon Laos is one of South East Asia’s best. It’s just a little more chilled than its neighbours.
The pace is slower and the old Mekong even flows a little more languidly. From the day-long markets and dusty riverside paths of sleepy Vientane, to the rad scenery around activity-friendly Vang Vieng, and the minxy beauty of Heritage Listed Luang Prabang. Laos will leave you a little bit weak at the knees.
And because we love it so much, we’ll make sure you see all of the best bits, eat all of the best foods, and meet all of the best peeps.
Your smile may even end up as wide as the awesome locals (who will soon be your new bff's for life).

Geckos is the closest thing to independent travel, with all our accommodation and transport pre-organised! We had so much free time to plan our own days - with the help of our guides to assist us along the way! Great for young travellers!

Discover Laos, August 2016
Geckos was one of the best vacations I have had. We booked super last minute, and they made us feel comfortable from the beginning. The trip notes were incredibly helpful and easy to follow. We went on a whim and had the most relaxing and exciting holiday we have ever had. The trip leaders were absolutely amazing, Katie made us feel like locals bartering in Thailand and ordering some of the best food we have ever had in places we would never have found on our own. She also shared some amazing culture with us; how to be respectful when visiting temples- learning more than we would have from any guide book. Laos was a nice change - so relaxing and beautiful. Khamla was full of knowledge and passion for his country. He made everything seem so easy even though we were packing so much into each day, he truly embodied the relaxed nature of the Laos people while still getting so much accomplished. Learning from both our guides and having them share their cultures with us was the best part of the trip, we never would have gained so much insight into each culture without a local there to guide us. We were incredibly spoiled with some amazing people on our small tour, who we will be friends with for life!
