Bad monks incarnate - the stray dogs of Tibetan monasteries

Stray dogs hang around Tibetan monasteries like faithful Lamas – local belief is they’re the incarnation of bad monks, -ones wayward and worse in their previous lives and now seeking atonement and favour for their next life. Seems there was quite a crop of bad monks in the past, but due to present canine welfare and human hygiene efforts there are likely to be less in the future.
