Baseball Japanese-style

Fancy a midnight swing at some hundred-kilometer-an-hour baseballs? If you look up to the building tops from the train or street while travelling Japan, you’ll soon see vast green nets adorning some, many lit up throughout the night. Take the elevator to the top floor of one of these towers and you’ll find automated swing arms pummeling balls into the backs of nets or, if the batters are any good, hear the sweet ping of a solid hit. Hire a bat and maybe a helmet, and get involved at the fake-grass roots of Japan’s most popular team sport. Cheap, physical, city fun at any hour.
