Camping in Torres del Paine National Park
Daytrippers can readily marvel at the views that this national park boasts, but to truly appreciate its majesty, camping here for at least a night is a must. Trek to a peaceful corner of a glacial lake and watch the sun work its magic on the horned peaks and granite needles that point heavenwards. The Towers of Paine are one of nature’s greatest sculptures, a Chilean icon, and the highlight of any visit to Patagonia. Waking at sunrise in the shadow of these peaks, with only glaciers and lakes, condors and flamingos, for company is blissful, and you’ll understand why for Chileans, this is a place of patriotic pride and pilgrimage.
