Eat llama in La Paz

Eat llama in La Paz

You’ll see plenty of loveable, fluffy llamas as you cruise through Bolivia’s altiplano – and then some more on the menu when you hit La Paz’s restaurants.Raised for wool and meat, and hardy in the harsh climes, the camelids are classic Andean fare, the sheep of the high plains. It’s a dark meat, a little sweeter than beef, and tastes great as a steak or in a stew. Look for it in the atmospheric little restaurants that crowd the streets around the witches’ market in La Paz.
