
One of India’s very best regional foods, Goan recipes are a unique and happy collision of Hindu and Catholic cuisines, and if you’re a seafood fan, prepare to feast. Kingfish is a staple here, invariably fresh and delicious, often served in a spicy coconut sauce. Look out too for curries featuring crab and prawns, frequently laden with fenugreek, lemon and chilli. Few pleasures are as straightforward or enjoyable as starting a Goan evening by sitting at one of Anjuna’s beach shacks soaking in the local life while you tuck into a plate or two of barbequed seafood.
