Hwange National Park - home to the second largest population of elephants in the world

Elephant central. Hwange has the second largest population of elephants in the world, as well as a dozen safari’s worth of other fantastic wildlife. The elephants come to Hwange’s many watering holes after the sun has drifted down, huge herds of the great beasts – often a 100-strong. And next to them, looking on to this remarkable scene, you. Hwange is renowned for its excellent hides, meaning that from where you stand, the floodlit watering hole is almost within touching distance, the criss-cross patterns and tough folds of the bull elephants’ hides clearly visible, their snorts and great cries filling the still night air. An awe-inspiring spectacle, truly breathtaking.
