The jade-green pool of 100-metre Dindefelo Falls
In the foothills of the Fouta Djallon Mountains, Dindefelo makes for both a warming walk and a cooling dip. Birdsong accompanies you as you move through the forest, while baboons and monkeys may be seen among the trees. Picturesque trails lead you to Dindefelo’s standout sight: a magnificent 100-metre high waterfall, a silver ribbon that cascades down from stark red cliffs into a pool of jade green, sitting snugly in the shade of towering ceiba trees. After the walk you’ll want to dive right in and refresh, but be warned, the water can be breath-catchingly cold.
