A stroll along Puerto Ayora’s waterfront reveals not just a few lazing pelicans, sea lions and iguanas, but many a fine restaurant and bar too. Alternatively, head up a couple of blocks to Calle Charles Binford, where a string of kiosks serve up simple, delicious dishes of the freshest seafood. Sit outside on the vibrant street among local families, feast on barbequed lobster and prawns and ponder why anyone chooses to live anywhere else.
