On the water in the Amazon

The rhythm of Peru’s Amazonian river life is hypnotic; placid yet alive with sound and colour. Kingfishers guide boats, darting from nearby branch to branch while egrets and turtles look impassively on. A giant otter briefly surfaces and plump capybaras merrily doze and wallow another day away. A relaxed, bewitching excitement overtakes as you glide upriver to your jungle lodge, torn between another binocular survey of the riverbanks or just settling back, closing your eyes and letting the sounds of nature envelope you.
