India
The culture kaleidoscope of India and the turquoise waters and rolling hills of its teardrop island neighbour, Sri Lanka, will enlighten, inspire and challenge first-time travellers and seasoned veterans alike. Experiencing either country will gobsmack and delight you from chaotic Colombo in the south to serene Dharamsala in the north. The people, languages, customs, food and landscapes are hugely diverse and fascinating: In India, chaotic cities, colourful saris, rattling trains, holy rivers, welcoming villagers, world-renowned cuisine, hustling, bustling streets and romantic, captivating sights, sounds, scents and tastes weave together in an ever-fresh jumble, while in Sri Lanka, sleepy towns, historic fortresses and temples set snug in rolling hills, alongside wildlife reserves, charming colonial bungalows, beautiful beaches and the mad capital will similarly enthral.

The Road to Delhi
Robert - Droughty Point, TAS, 24 Sep, 2011
Both tour guides, Kris in Nepal & Rakesh in India were brilliant. We encountered a few transport issues & disruptions in Kathmandu, but this was handled well & Kris even organised a driver to take us out to Bahktapur when we had just about given up. Rakesh took us out to see a Bollywood movie in Varanasi (but I don't want to make it sound like he didn't work hard!) The point is he was flexible around our needs & more than happy to help. Both tour guides allowed us plenty of free time as well as providing interpretation & guiding in organised activities - both were inspirational characters & an asset to Gecko's. We also got to meet some fantastic local people. Gopal & Hari in Chitwan were especially knowledgable & invaluable as local contacts. We will be back at some stage & hope to meet up once more with some of the people we met on this wonderful trip.
