It’s the land where sacred cows freeload through the streets and locals go gaga for Bollywood soundtracks, India’s weirdness will totally rock your world.
Travel in India is pretty much like nowhere else in the world. It’s mind-blowing, mind-expanding, mind-boggling and anything but mind-numbing. And with about 1.2 billion people sharing the space, there’s probably that many experiences to be had. In fact almost any experience you can have on the planet can be found here.
That includes an all-night chai-athon while you wait for a cow to finish its nap on the train tracks. In the north you can ride a camel through the Thar Desert, meet the hippies of Jodphur, and live on lassis. Then there’s that little place called the Taj Mahal.
In the south it’s all about the go-slow. There are Kerala’s canals to cruise, Goa’s beaches to go all beach-y on and enough coconuts to build a coconut building out of.

Chill out in the backwaters of Kerala
Kerala is one case where the adjective ‘sleepy’ can be used in a good way. Spend the night with a local family in a small island village
Behold the glorious Taj Mahal
You’ve probably heard of this one. So have the three million other tourists visiting every year – but it’s still a breathtaking sight
Ride a camel through the Thar Desert
Forget carpooling with your mates to a music festival. This is the ultimate convoy

The Road to Delhi, May 2016
This was a great trip to get a taste of India- and I'll be back for more. India is not a place I wanted to travel alone, being a solo female traveller, so a small group was great. The trip covered all the sights I wanted to see in the area, including the Taj Mahal and the holy city of Varanasi.

The Road to Delhi, April 2016
An outstanding trip! Felt like I did about 6 months of travelling in 2 weeks - incredibly well organised and utterly unforgettable. Has got me hooked on India and Nepal so already planning my next trip there.
