  • Check out the Egyptian Museum, pyramids and the Sphinx in Cairo, head on to Aswan and explore the Nubian Bazaar, jump on a boat and cruise the Nile stopping at some rad ruins and attending impromptu fancy-dress parties (ie best cruise ever) then explore ye old Luxor.

Apparently beer was introduced to the Egyptians by the god Osiris. And murals depicting their ancient brewing practices have been found in vaults, pyramids, and sacrificial chambers. Beer was even used as currency to pay slaves, tradesmen and priests. So grab yourself a Sakara and toast the history of beer in Egypt. It’d be rude not to.

    Itinerary

    Day 8 - Luxor

Best bits: Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut. Get lost in the bazaar before your sleeper train back to Cairo. It's nearly the end of the trip, so let loose and snore your heart out.

The locals in Cairo say the best way to cross the street is to just close your eyes and go. When in Rome (well, Cairo)! Felfela Takeaway on Sharia Talaat Harb is our pick for the tastiest fuul - Egypt's national dish of spicy fava beans mashed on pita bread.

In general the tour was well planned. Mohammed (our tour leader) made us feel at ease about Egypt, his pride in his country also came through as he explained the history and modern day ongoings of Egypt. Me being a solo traveler he was very accommodating and always made the effort to not make me fell left out. I would definitely plan another trip with him

This was really great! A tour to remember and to be recommended to every one. I can't describe it better than to say it was Wow on a Wow and way above my expectation. Definitely value for money. The Tour leader was great and his knowledge, enthusiasm and support the unknown for us, definitely added to the overall success of the tour. All the excursions, transport, like the train trip, felucca sailing, camel ride, donkey ride and the boat cruise was all beyond my wildest dream. Once again... an experience to remember for ever!
