Wikipedia says, "legend has it that a serpent god planned to marry a beautiful woman named Naipi, but she fled with her mortal lover in a canoe. In a rage, the serpent god sliced the river to create the waterfalls and condem the lovers to an eternal separation". Not exactly a fairytale ending.
(Was Amazing Iguazu)
Day 1 - Puerto Iguazu (Argentina)
You're in the middle of a rainforest, sitting at a cafe on the side of the road, drinking Quilmes beer and not thinking about your job. Doesn't get much better.
You are met at your hotel by your local guide at 1:00pm to begin your half day tour to the Brazilian National Park, where there are amazing panoramic views of the falls which are almost 3km long and feature 270 cascades. Take an easy 1km walk for approximately 1 hour to the canyon of the Devil's Throat. After the tour you could also enjoy an optional visit to the bird bark or a spectacular helicopter ride over the falls, before returning to your hotel to enjoy a free evening back in town.
Perhaps swing by some souvenir shops or one of the great local restaurants
Day 2 - Puerto Iguazu (Argentina)
On day 2 you take a full day excursion to the Argentinean side of the falls.
