Moai & Mystery

Ahu Akivi stone statues
  • Spend four days exploring the mysterious stone sculptures that populate this remote volcanic outpost. Hang out in Hanga Roa, see the moai of Ahu Tautira, Ahu Tongariro and Akivi, peer down into Rano Raraku volcano and visit Orongo Ceremonial Village.

It’s the most isolated international airport in the world. So if you’re looking for an escape, this is it. No chances of running into an ex or tripping over tourists here. Easter Island is famous for being home to 887 stone statues with gigantic heads.  These are called moai. Learn this word.
