Yo-ho-ho and a Bottle of Rum


    Thailand, Burma, sailing, snorkelling, Myauk Ni, Palu Bada, Bo Cho, Ba Wei, Kho Yinn Khwa and Thay Yae (ie heaps of islands), turquoise water, good times.


    Legendary captains: Jack Sparrow, Bluebeard, Han Solo, Cook, Blackbeard, Kirk, America, Hook. By the end of this trip you can include the guy who safely gets you back on solid ground. He'll be so excited.


    Day 1 - Phuket

    Arrive in Phuket and do as much or as little as you like.

    You will have a welcome meeting at 6pm

    Get out and explore the city

    Day 2 - Ranong

    Time to get radical. We drive for approximately 5 hours to Ranong where we have time to relax with a beer or enjoy a massage.


    Explore the local restaurants and food stalls for dinner, maybe grab some extra on-board supplies
    The hotel is basic but central, and close to the pier for departure tomorrow


    Day 3 - Myauk Ni Island

    In the morning leave our hotel for  Sapanpla Immigration Pier we will move through immigration, exit Thailand and travel by long boat to board our yacht which will be moored offshore. Your Burmese visas will be processed on bard the yacht by our Burmese Custom’s agent.  Once our processing has taken place we’ll set sail for Myauk Ni Island. The isolated Myeik(Mergui) Archipelago embraces at least 800 islands, many deserted, making this a region for true explorers. The islands' limestone cliffs and dense rainforest interiors meet with vast mangrove stretches and truly untouched white sand beaches.
    Underwater, the scenes are just as refreshing with a diversity of marine life and stunning coral reefs.

    Explore the southern beach of Myauk Ni Island and maybe try sea kayaking.


    Day 4 - Palu Bada

    Palu Bada is the perfect spot for some more snorkelling. You won't regret it - you'll see fish of all shapes, sizes and colours and perhaps even some octopus, eels and whale sharks too. And maybe a boot. There's always an old boot floating around when it comes to oceans.

    Head to Palu Bada

    Day 5 - Bo Cho Island

    Head to a village on Bo Cho Island and learn about real life sea gypsies ('Moken'). They are amazing. Their boats, which have kitchens, bedrooms and dining areas, are all made by hand. What have you done lately?

    Sail a few hours north to Bo Cho island and get a taste of village life - home to the Moken people or 'sea gypsies'
    Anchor nearby on a quieter beach for the evening


    Day 6 - Ba Wei Island

    Sail south during the morning, and spot turtles, laze on the beach, take some photos, or build a campfire during the afternoon and evening. Or do all of the above.

    Sail south to Ba Wei Island (also known as Barwell Island)

    A great spot for snorkelling, known for sightings of Hawks Bill turtles

    Weather permitting, relax around a beach campfire


    Day 7 - Kho Yinn Khwa Island

    Enjoy a feast of local Burmese treats like mohinga (noodle soup), gyin thohk (ginger salad) and fresh island fruits. After a busy day of snorkelling, jungle hiking and lazing on Kho Yinn Khwa’s beach, you're gonna need it.

    Sail to Kho Yinn Khwa Island (Maclead Island)

    Enjoy dinner at the island's resort
    Take a guided hike to a beautiful lookout (1.5 hours. The climb is challenging so please bring suitable footwear (no sandals or flip flops)


    Day 8 - Thay Yae Island

    Kayak, snorkel, swim and frolic. Those are the only rules for today's excursion into the turquoise ocean (no, it really is turquoise. It's not just a buzzword).

    Enjoy a final dinner and sunset

    Day 9 - Phuket

    Watch the sunrise, say goodbye to your new mates and head home. Aaah, Burma.

    Head back to Phuket

    This trip ends at 6pm in Phuket, please consider this when booking onward travel.
