Never heard of Indochina? Don’t stress it’s just old school speak for Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. You’ll come for Angkor Wat but you’ll stay for the pho/amok/spring rolls (we could go on).

Itinerary
Day 1-2 - Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels
Nothing planned for the first day, and then it’s off to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Once you’re back in HCMC you can shop for tiny ceramic tea sets at Ben Thanh Market while snacking on some chao tom (barbecued shrimp paste on sticks of sugar cane).
Day 1
- Arrive in Ho Chi Minh and explore this fascinating city. There will be a pre departure meeting at approx. 6pm tonight!
Day 2
- Crawl through a section of the Cu Chi Tunnels
- Learn how the brave men and women of Cu Chi built underground hospitals, kitchens and meeting rooms during their struggle
- Spend the last afternoon in Vietnam shopping in the city’s main business district, or take a cyclo ride through the busy city streets to Saigon’s Chinatown district, Cholon
Day 3 - Phnom Penh
Buckle up (even though there’s probably no seatbelts) for a full day of travel to Phnom Penh. When you arrive, hit the Foreign Correspondents Club for a mojito on the rooftop.
- Drive to Phnom Penh by VIP public bus
BreakfastDay 4 - Phnom Penh
Discover Cambodia’s tragic history through the eyes of a local. Visit Tuol Sleng Prison where up to 20,000 Cambodians were executed and the Choeung Ek killing fields.
- Take a cyclo sightseeing tour of Phnom Penh to include the Royal Palace and the infamous Tuol Sleng Prison
- Join a bus to visit another reminder of the Khmer Rouge atrocities, the Choeung Ek killing fields
- Visit the Central Market, located in an old French colonial building - a good place to look for clothing or sarongs
- Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Phnom Penh city
- Perhaps stop by the Silver Pagoda, the temple of Wat Phnom, the National Museum and the French Quarter
BreakfastDay 5-7 - Siem Reap - Angkor
It’s the one you’ve all been waiting for – Angkor Wat. Best bits: sunset at Phnom Bakheng, Elephant Terrace, Bayon and Ta Prohm (the Tomb Raider one).
Day 5
- Leave Phnom Penh on a private bus and head towards Siem Reap
- Follow the Tônlé Sap River and pass through fishing villages
- Drive out to the Angkor temple complex to watch the sunset from one of the structures; Phnom Bakheng, Pre Rup temple, Sras Srong, Phnom Krom or Phnom Bok
Day 6
- Take an informative day-long tour of the Angkor complex, visiting the South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon, Elephant Terrace, Baphoun, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Leper King, Ta Prohm and, of course, Angkor Wat
Day 7
- Free time to do some exploring of your own
- Optional visit to the rose-coloured Banteay Srei Temple
- Perhaps visit Banteay Srei, located about 30 kilometres north of Siem Reap - considered to be the best preserved of all of Cambodia’s temples
- Optional trip with into the countryside to discover facets of rural life with a local site guide
- Kick back in Siem Reap and just wander around the town, visiting its market, shops and restaurants
BreakfastDay 8 - Siem Reap - Bangkok
A day of travel on both mini-van and local bus, but we promise to reach Bangers in time for happy hour (which basically runs 24/7 so joke’s on you).
- Jump into local mini-vans for an adventurous journey to the Cambodian/Thai border town of Poipet
- Stop for lunch in the Thai border town of Aranya Prathet
- Continue on by local bus to Bangkok
BreakfastDay 9- 10 - Bangkok
Take a morning tour of the Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha etc and then you’re on your own. The Skytrain will take you from the shops to the food and everywhere in between.
- Take a short walking tour and visit some of Bangkok’s most famous sights, including the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha
- Shop for bargains, eat in exotic restaurants and perhaps hit some bars or nightclubs
- Day 10 is your final day, you can leave any time after breakfast!
