Can you afford to travel in Canada? In these days of fiscal meltdowns and volatile markets, time spent travelling in Canada is a sound, regret-free investment. Based on that fool-proof theory, you simply can’t afford not to travel Canada. Fact.

Canada has more doughnut shops per capita than anywhere else in the world.
2. SWEET STUFF
Quebec produces three quarters of the world’s maple syrup.
3. CANADIAN BACON
80s frat comedy Porky’s remains the most successful Canadian film (based on box office takings, not critical acclaim…. of course).
4. FORGET PARIS
Montreal is the world’s largest French-speaking city outside of Paris.
5. HEAD CASE
Canada is home to a UNESCO World Heritage site called ‘Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump’.
The largest lobster ever caught was in Nova Scotia in the 1970s and weighed more than 20 kilograms. Get in our belly!
7. OH MY DAWG
Canada is home to the most expensive hotdog in the world. The $100 cognac-infused, lobster and Kobe beef ‘Dragon Dog’ is made by DougieDog in Vancouver.
8. SEPARATION ANXIETY
The Canada/U.S. border runs straight through the town of Derby Line, with homes and even the local opera house built right on top of the border. The stage of the opera house is in Canada, while the entrance and seats are in the United States.

The province of Alberta has been rat-free for 50 years thanks to a successful eradication program which involved armies of hard core rat hunters.

In the summer months, a few, select McDonald’s outlets on the east coast of Canada sell the famed, limited edition McLobster burger.
