Attention: Chicago is recreating the Ferris Bueller parade
Read time: less than a minute
It’s weird to think that 30 years have passed since Ferris Bueller taught us how to sing Danke Schoen and why isms are not good. If Ferris was real, he’d probably have two kids and a mortgage by now. Kinda sad.
But Chicago, where the classic John Hugh’s film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off was actually set, has decided to do something so awesome that it must be prefaced with the appropriate gif:
They are holding a 30-year anniversary celebration of Ferris Bueller, complete with an actual Twist and Shout parade through the city centre. What a time to be alive, people. Just to reiterate, you can now LIVE this:
Organisers of Ferris Fest (shame about the name) have also promised a few ‘surprises’, which I’m personally hoping means that Matthew Broderick, in all his aged glory, will be leading the parade. There’s also going to be screenings of the movie at the John and Nancy Hughes theatre in Lake Forest and a number of other Ferris-themed events kicking off around the city.
Want to join the fun? Fake a sicky at school and book the next flight to Chicago…or at least try to be there between May 20-22.
We’ll leave you with a quote from the great man himself. Live it. Learn it.
