There are 50 million skateboarders worldwide. There are 15 skateboarders in Yangon, the capital of Burma (Myanmar). Directed by James Holman, a New Zealand-based cinematographer, this 13-minute documentary highlights the struggles the youth of Yangon face when pursuing their four-wheeled passion, as well as the profound impact their new found freedom us having on their lives.

Holman’s film was nominated for the best documentary in the 2013 Los Angeles Skateboard Film festival, and it gives a rare glimpse into a side of Burma you perhaps wouldn’t expect to exist.
